Course Review – The Revere Golf Club Lexington

The first course to open on the Revere Golf Club property, Lexington opened in 1999 (followed by Concord in 2002). Lexington is the more challenging of the two 18’s, but is still a very playable course with excellent conditions, a fun design and great views of the Las Vegas skyline.

Lexington was ranked 23rd on Golf Digests top 25 places to play in Las Vegas.

Location

Located in Henderson, NV, The Revere is about 20 minutes from the south end of the Las Vegas strip.

Course Designer

Billy Casper and Greg Nash (Casper/Nash & Associates) have several of Las Vegas courses to their name.  Billy Casper also has course credits in Arizona, California and a few elsewhere in the US. Although Casper passed away in 2015, the golf course management company that bares his name is the second largest in the US.

Year Opened

As stated above, Lexington was the first 18 to open at the Revere Golf Club in 1999.

Cost $ ($$$)

With dynamic pricing in place in most places the cost of a course really depends on a number of factors. However, for me, this was a real steal. I paid $125 USD for 2 rounds that included cart and range balls. So, $62.50 a round. It should be noted that I played in February which is not their high season.

Golf Digest put the price point at $155 USD, which seems insane.

Favorite Hole

There was a lot of elevation change and nicely contoured fairways on this golf course so I enjoyed a lot of the par 4s and 5s from a visual standpoint. The signature hole, and my favorite was the par 5 7th. Elevated tee shot where you had to be careful with driver, then a good risk/reward second shot into a green perfectly framed by a water fall.

Practice Facility

The driving range was adequate size, but nowhere here near the first tee of the Lexington course (about a 5min cart ride).

There was a putting green beside the tee, which was convenient.

Why I would go back

For one, you can play year round, that in itself would bring me back. The course was really fun, lots of interesting holes and I think there are a lot of different ways to play the course. The course was in excellent shape, especially considering it was the off season.

Interesting Information

  • The property is within a housing development, but was built on the side of a hill, so most of the time the houses were well above you or well below you.
  • They had USB plugs in the carts to charge your phone, very cool.
