Binghampton Golf Trip – En – Joie Golf Club

We wrapped up our week in Binghamton with a stop at the home of the Champions Tour Dick’ Sporting Goods Open, and former home of the PGA Tours B.C. Open En-Joie Golf Club.

The club is urban based, as such comes across as tight for space at times, which is strange considering the space it would require to host a professional tournament. The course itself features tight fairways and well placed water hazards. We were lucky to playing in the spring before the trees bloom (not sure if technically trees bloom) because I can imagine when full of leaves the trees gobble up a lot of balls.

From a conditions standpoint the course was in decent shape, good shape for April. I can see how it would be tour quality at peak season.

My game was the best of the week, although my score at Conklin was better, I feel I played better at En-Joie. While I certainly wasn’t on my A game, I was pretty happy to walk away with an 83 on a tough course, especially considering the way I had played the previous 2 days.

Following our round we packed up the car and heading north, back to Ottawa ready for golf season back home to begin.

While my play during the week wasn’t great, and was downright awful at times it was a really fun trip and gave me a good indication how my golf game wintered and where I needed to focus my spring efforts.

See you at the turn,

Brewcee
