West Coast Swing Part 2

Mary and I spent a week out west in August, check out part 1 here.

After our round in Vancouver, Mary and I drove up to Whistler for a couple days. While we didn’t play (the $100+ rounds were a little rich for our blood), we did check out the clubhouses at Nicklaus North, Chateau Whistler Golf Club, and Whistler Golf Club.

After a couple of days in Whistler we headed back to Vancouver, with a stop over in Squamish to play the picturesque Squamish Valley Golf Club.

The 6400 yard (Black Tees) course doesn’t play overly hard, but several long par 4s demand length off the tee. The courses biggest selling feature is the scenery, with great mountain views on pretty much every hole.

I didn’t have the best day, but still played pretty well shooting an 80. I enjoyed the layout and the scenery, and it was a great day to the on the golf course weather wise.

After our round we headed into Vancouver and spent a few golfless days enjoying the city with friends and family.

See you at the turn,
